Kool & The Gang
Kool & the Gang officially formed in 1969. Thanks to legendary songs such as ‘Celebration’, ‘Cherish’, ‘Jungle Boogie’, ‘Summer Madness’ and ‘Open Sesame’, they won two Grammys and seven American Music Awards. They have had a total of 25 top-ten R&B hits, nine top-ten pop hits and 31 gold and platinum albums, and have performed continuously – from Nairobi to Newark – for longer than any other R&B group in music history.
Their indestructible funk sound and jazzy arrangements have made them the most frequently sampled R&B band of all time. One critic recently described their performance as a “show made of 24-carat gold” – and even after half a century on tour, their diary is still packed every year with concerts around the globe. On 6 March 2027, you can see them live in Berlin – don’t miss it!
