Following this guiding principle, we view our sustainability management as a continuous improvement process that supports the execution of resource-saving and socially responsible events.

Unique architecture & city location

The search for a spatial balance between the construction of a large arena on the one hand and the urban density in the center of the metropolis of Berlin on the other was an essential component in the architectural competition for the construction of the Max-Schmeling-Halle. The architect Jörg Joppien was able to convince with his design and emerged as the winner of this competition. A central component of the concept was that the Max-Schmeling-Halle was to be dug 70% into the rubble found at the site and thus fit into the topography of the overgrown rubble mountain, making it an integral part of the park landscapes with Falkplatz, Mauerpark and Jahn-Sportpark.

The connection between East and West - The urban planning concept of the "Green Bridge

The green roof areas form a walkable green bridge between East and West, giving the concept its name, and connecting the formerly separate districts of Prenzlauer Berg and Wedding.
