An Overview of Our Certifications
Since 2010, the Max-Schmeling-Halle has regularly been awarded certification under the internationally recognized Green Globe certification system—at the time, it was Germany’s first multifunctional arena to receive this distinction. In 2025, following its routine audit, it was recertified and retained its Platinum status, meeting 96% of the criteria.
The Green Globe program evaluates, among other things, sustainable resource use, social standards, occupational health and safety, visitor information, and customer satisfaction. A key factor in the Max-Schmeling-Halle’s success is the consistent refinement of all measures and the conservation of resources.
Resource conservation.
Velomax is also regularly inspected by TÜV and is certified according to the following management systems:
• DIN EN ISO 14001 (Environment)
• DIN EN ISO 50001 (Energy)
• DIN EN ISO 9001 (Quality)
• DIN ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety)
As part of Apleona, the corporate group is evaluated by the independent sustainability rating agency EcoVadis, most recently in 2023. The evaluation is based on 21 criteria in the areas of Environment & Energy, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics & Compliance, and Sustainable Procurement.
