Our certifications at a glance
Since 2010, the Max-Schmeling-Halle has regularly been awarded the globally recognized Green Globe certificate - at the time as the first multifunctional arena in Germany. In 2025, it was re-certified after the regular audit and defended its platinum status with 96% of the criteria met.
The Green Globe program evaluates sustainable use of resources, social standards, occupational health and safety, visitor information and customer satisfaction, among other things. A key success factor of the Max-Schmeling-Halle is the consistent conservation of resources.
Velomax is also regularly audited by TÜV and is certified according to the following management systems:
- DIN EN ISO 14001 (environment)
- DIN EN ISO 50001 (energy)
- DIN EN ISO 9001 (quality)
- DIN ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety)
As part of the Apleona the group of companies is rated annually by the independent sustainability rating EcoVadis rating. This is based on 21 criteria from the areas of environment & energy, labor & human rights, ethics & compliance and sustainable procurement. In 2023, Apleona received the platinum certificate - the highest EcoVadis award - for the third time in a row.
