Rules of the House

Access to the venue

Entering the event location is allowed only with the permission of Velomax Berlin Hallenbetriebs GmbH (Velomax). Velomax will issue house passes for legitimation purposes. Tickets issued by the event organizer, including participant, press, free and vip tickets, are valid legitimation documents for the duration of event. Velomax reserves the right to deny access to holders of identification papers in justified individual cases (e.g. in case of violation of legal regulations, in particular of the Youth Protection Act, of these house rules, alcoholism or for the purpose of the prevention of danger). Entry to the backstage area, the checkrooms, the operating facilities and other rooms and areas not open to the public is only permitted to those persons who are expressly authorized to do so by means of appropriate identification.

Admission

Instructions of the security staff must be obeyed without exception. If the security personnel takes objects for safekeeping, the visitor must collect the object immediately after the end of the event. If the object is not collected, Velomax is entitled to dispose of it.

It is not permitted to bring the following objects into the venue:

  • bags or backpacks exceeding DIN A4 size (21cm x 29,7cm)

  • weapons of any kind

  • gas spray bottles, corrosive or coloring substances or pressurized containers with flammable or harmful gases, except for commercially available pocket lighters

  • metal, plastic and glass containers

  • Notebooks, tablets, tripods, selfie sticks, audio and video recorders, cameras, GoPro cameras, laser pointers, whistles, studded belts

  • Drugs uder of the German Narcotic Drugs Act

  • Clothing, emblems, writings, posters and other items that are used, for example, for racist, xenophobic, right-wing or left-wing radical, National Socialist or political opinion rallies or as propaganda material or whose display in public is prohibited

  • pyrotechnic articles of any kind, including sparklers

  • prams or buggies

  • bulky and dangerous objects of any kind e.g.: sticks (except for the walking-impaired); umbrellas (except for compact umbrellas) Flagpoles or banner poles not made of wood or that are longer than 1 m or with a diameter larger than 1.5 cm

  • objects made of fragile or splintering materials

  • at sporting events, banners larger than 1.0 m²; at concerts and other entertainment events, banners larger than DIN A3, double holders, large quantities of paper, rolls of wallpaper, large quantities of confetti, etc.

  • mechanically, electrically or otherwise (e.g. pneumatically) operating noise instruments (e.g. megaphones, gas pressure fanfares, vuvuzelas)

  • Food and beverages (except for food and beverages carried for health reasons and for feeding babies and small children)

  • animals (except guide dogs)

Sound and image recording

Visitors to the venue are generally prohibited from taking any kind of image or sound recording device to and using it in the venue without the explicit permission of Velomax. Film and photo shots of the artists and their performances as well as the building and its facilities are not permitted.

Visitors conduct on the premises

Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the venue and on all adjoining premises. Velomax is entitled to declare a general ban on alcohol. Alcoholized visitors can be denied access to the venue; they can also be removed from the event location. The sale of any goods in the event location is not permitted without the consent of Velomax. Violations of the house rules or instructions of the security personnel entitles Velomax to issue a one-time or general house ban and to expel the person causing the disturbance from the venue. Velomax reserves its right to take further steps, in particular under criminal law. At the end of the event, visitors must leave the venue immediately.

Admission tickets lose their validity upon leaving the venue – this is also the case while the event is in process.

Liability

Velomax is liable without limitation in case of injury to life, body or health. In case of impossibility and delay as well as in case of breach of essential contractual obligations Velomax shall also be liable in case of slight negligence, but then limited to the typical foreseeable damage Essential contractual obligations (cardinal obligations) are such contractual obligations, necessary for the due performance of the contract, and the compliance of which the visitor regularly relies on and may rely on. Typical foreseeable damages are those which are subject to the protective purpose of the respective violated contractual norm. Apart from that Velomax is not be liable in case of slight negligence. The mentioned limitations of liability also apply to the governing bodies and vicarious agents of Velomax. This liability provision also applies in particular to items stored during the event.
